Today is World Book and Copyright Day, because an April 23, died writers Miguel de Cervantes, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and William Shakespeare.
This last writer has always been one of my favorites. The first time I devoured a book was when I read "Midnight Summer Night", I loved the story, the way of the narrative, characters, everything in my mind flowed like a movie.
Then it happened with a few books, like "Romeo and Juliet," "Hamlet" and "Otelo", which follow the pattern of stormy relationships and unrequited love. Yes, I know, I'm such a drama queen.
Good to know that the same issues that were addressed to the late sixteenth century are still valid today, that makes me see even more clear that certain things will always have the same importance and never go out of fashion. If in the past 4 centuries there were people who believed in love, why should today be different?

Hoy es el Día Internacional del Libro y del Derecho de Autor, debido a que un día 23 de abril fallecieron los escritores Miguel de Cervantes, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega y William Shakespeare.
Este último escritor siempre ha sido uno de mis favoritos. La primera vez que me devoré un libro fue cuando leí "El sueño de una noche de verano", me encantó la historia, la forma de la narración, los personajes, todo en mi mente fluyó como en una película.
Luego me ha pasado con pocos libros más, como "Romeo y Julieta", "Hamlet" y "Otelo", que siguen el patrón de relaciones tormentosas y amores no correspondidos. Sí, lo sé, me encanta el drama.
Es bueno saber que los mismos temas que se abordaban a finales del siglo XVI siguen vigentes en nuestros días, eso me hace tener más claro aún que ciertas cosas siempre tendrán la misma importancia y nunca pasarán de moda. Si hace 4 siglos había gente que creía en el amor, ¿por qué hoy tendría que ser distinto?
